puertorico36Besides enrolling in our Cenegenics program, there are several measures you could take right from the comfort of your home to delay sagging skin, fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet and age spots among other signs of aging.

1. Lemon Juice
Lemons are high in vitamin C which boosts collagen production in the body. Collagen is the component responsible for taut skin, and as its production in the body decreases with age, your skin thus begins to sag.

Simply rub freshly squeezed lemon juice all over your face and neck and let sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing.

2. Aloe Vera
The malic acid present in Aloe Vera plant is what’s responsible for strengthening skin as well as moisturizing it.

Apply the gel on your face and neck, let sit for 20 minutes and then rinse off.

3. Olive Oil
Olive oil is packed with vitamin A and E making it an effective anti-ageing potion that smoothens out wrinkles restoring the skin’s sheen in the process.

When applying, be sure to warm the oil a little and then massage into skin using fingertips for about 10 minutes.

4. Rose Water
Owing to its astringent action, Rose water is great for tightening skin. It’s also a cleanser, helping fight off minor skin infections by unclogging pores.

Rose water is best used before bedtime. Simply wash your face with it, or you could opt to make a mask by mixing it with almond oil and rinsing the mask off after 20 minutes.

5. Coconut Milk
Coconut is packed with vitamins and minerals making it effective in keeping skin soft, well moisturized, supple and youthfully radiant.

To obtain the milk, simply squeeze raw grated coconut. Apply the milk to your face and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

6. Cucumber
Cucumber is effective at strengthening the skin’s connective tissue as well as reducing puffiness around the eyes and dark circles.

For a face mask, combine grated cucumber and curd and apply to the skin then rinse off with warm water after about 20 minutes.

7. Papaya Mask
Being rich in vitamin A and having great antioxidant action are two major properties that make papaya good for the skin. Papain – an enzyme in papaya, digests dead cells on the skin making it more firm and elastic.

Just mash the papaya into a smooth paste, apply to the face and rinse off with warm water after 15 minutes.

8. Honey
Widely known as a natural moisturizer, honey has anti-ageing and antioxidant properties. It gives skin a healthier color, moisturizing even the skin that’s tough and leathery.
For application, you could mix it with some lemon juice and rinse off with warm water once it has dried.

9. Fenugreek
An age-old home remedy, fenugreek seeds are packed with niacin and vitamin B3, making it effective in restoring damaged skin cells and promoting regeneration of tissues and new cells. In the process, this fights age spots, crow’s feet, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Simply grind the seeds to a paste, mix with honey and apply to the face and neck. Rinse off after about an hour.

10. Egg Whites
Eggs are rich in potassium, proteins, riboflavin and magnesium. This makes it suitable for aiding tissue repair, hydrating and moisturizing skin as well as reducing wrinkles and fine lines. It also curbs premature skin aging by neutralizing damage resulting from oxidative stress and free radicals.

Simply apply the egg white evenly on the face, let sit for 15 minutes then rinse off after it has dried.
